How to save on your quarterly power bill

Cutuli Electrical's Brett Lodding shares his tips on saving power.

WE have received a number of phone calls from people over the past few months in regards to concerns with the increases in their quarterly power bill.

I would advise that you complete a few small checks around the home:

Fridge temperature - has the temp been turned down?

Fridge seals - Any damage? Are they clean? Does the fridge door seal properly?

Air-conditioning filters - Are they clean?

Air-conditioning temperature - Keep temp at 23 - 24 degrees.

Standby power - have appliances been left on?

Water taps - Are there any leaking water taps?

It may not seem like much, but these few things can make a substantial difference, especially through the summer months.

Keep in mind that during the hotter days your cooling appliances have to work harder for the same result.

You can contact Ergon on 13 10 46 and speak to their staff, raise your concern with them and request a review to be completed.

Ergon also provides many helpful tools and tips on their website.
