Harbour festival parade to go ahead on Friday afternoon

THE 2014 Gladstone Harbour Festival Workforce International Street Parade has been rescheduled for Friday at 4pm, after being unable to proceed on Sunday because of wet weather.

The colourful carnival parade will depart from the O'Connell Wharf area on Flinders Parade (near the Gladstone Yacht Club), make its way over the Marina Bridge and finish at the Mission to Seafarers Building.

Participants who had entered a nomination form for the parade that was due to be held on Sunday are asked to email info@gladstonefestival.com to confirm their participation for the rescheduled parade, if they have not already done so.

The WICET fireworks that were scheduled to start the festival with a bang on Sunday also have been rescheduled for Friday.

The four harbour festival fireworks displays will now be:

  • Wednesday, sponsored by Australia Pacific LNG, at 8:30pm
  • Thursday, sponsored by Gladstone Ports Corporation,at 8pm
  • Friday, sponsored by WICET, at 8:30pm
  • Saturday, sponsored by Transit Systems, at 8pm
