Harbour festival parade is back with new sponsor found

THE Gladstone Harbour Festival street parade is back on for this year after a new sponsor was found by organisers.

Gladstone Festival and Events has announced Workforce International as the sponsor.

Major changes to State Government requirements for road closures, and the costs associated with those regulations, also put a halt to the event.

How the story unfolded

Workforce International will play a major role in using their signs and qualified people to support the parade.

News of the parade's axing was met with disappointment by residents, many of whom had been attending the event since they were children.

Nominations for organisations wishing to participate in the parade are now open, and can be accessed here.
