VIDEO: Hail hits Sunshine Coast and Gympie
UPDATE: HAIL has been reported in areas of Gympie and the Sunshine Coast.
Likers of The Gympie Times Facebook page have shared photos and reports of hail in areas such as Kandanga, Imbil and Curra.
People on the Sunshine Coast Daily Facebook page have also reported hail in hinterland areas such as Maleny.

Meanwhile, a hail storm has swept over Toowoomba, leaving many yards in a thick layer of ice that looked more like snow.
Almost half an hour of heavy rain followed the hail storm, which sent small hailstones falling across the Garden City at about 11.45am.
There was no warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology.
Authorities were forecasting the possibility of an afternoon storm today.
A severe hail storm also slammed into communities just north-west of Toowoomba last night.
Heavy hail was reported at Meringandan about 8.05pm.
Higgins Storm Chasing reported: "Locals are describing (the storm) as crazy and unbelievable as the small but intense storm lasted 20 minutes".
EARLIER: HAIL IS expected to strike swathes of south-east Queensland this afternoon, with the Sunshine Coast, Kingaroy, and the Darling Downs to be affected.
The Bureau of Meteorology has this afternoon issued a warning that Maroochydore, Gympie, Kingaroy, Noosa, Caboolturel, Caloundra, Wondai, Murgon and Yarrama can expect "large hailstones".
The Darling Downs and areas west of the south-east coast can expect slow moving storms that are expected to deliver "large amounts of small hail".
The BOM is warning that Toowoomba, Clifton and Warwick specifically are likely to be affected.
These areas are to watch out for drainage issues and dangerous road conditions.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
- Move your car under cover.
- Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
- Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
- Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
