Gym's just jumping for 2014 after largest season on record

GLADSTONE Gymnastics' 2013 season was as big as any the club has ever experienced.

Holding classes for a record number of gymnasts, nearing the 800 mark, and having a huge year in terms of increasing levels and competition, last year has the club very keen on seeing what the new season delivers.

Although there have been classes in the gym, the official launch of the season is Saturday, hosting up to 100 new students at the club's sign-on for the year.

"We will have at least 100 new students, plus our continual enrolments," club administrator Amy Dew said.

"It is a very popular day. We are getting lots of calls from people who are coming."

The guarantee of possible enrolments and increased numbers in the club's member base, coaches and the committee of Gladstone Gymnastics are keen to show the facilities on offer, as well as the level of coaching.

One change this year which is always in the list of options is increased classes, catering for the demand.

"Our classes are great and the possibility of increasing and offering new classes is there," Dew said.

While the demand will be seen in the near future, Dew and the team are looking forward to seeing the busy Saturday morning run smoothly first before worrying about February and beyond.

While there is no cost for the sign-on day, which runs from 10am-1pm, the club reminds people to bring along a fun attitude.

"There is a circuit so kids can come and have a play."
