Gusty winds cause minor damage

BIG winds caused some minor damage throughout the region over the weekend while 18mm of rain fell on Saturday.

Yesterday was a fine day with a minimum temperature of 13 degrees and a maximum of 24.

The UV ratings for the weekend and most of this week is extreme and people are reminded to take care and use sunscreen. Sunrise yesterday was at 5.21am and sunset at 6.01.

Today's outlook is fine and sunny with temperatures ranging between 13 and 25.

Tomorrow will also be sunny and a bit warmer with temperatures ranging between 16 and 27. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and 18-26 degrees and Thursday will see showers clearing and 19-25 degrees.

Friday's outlook is sunny at 18-27 degrees and Saturday will be mostly sunny at 18-27 degrees. Peter Webb from the Rockhampton Bureau of Meteorology said it was going to be cooler than normal this week but will fine and sunny.

“There are some possible light showers mid-week and the strong winds we experienced over the weekend have now eased right back,” Webb said.
