GREENS Senator Larissa Waters has continued her attack on the Gladstone Harbour dredging project during a visit to the city on Tuesday.

"I'm questioning the veracity of the data collected," the senator said.

She is visiting locations on the Queensland coast where expansion of coal ports is planned.

She said she wanted to meet community groups and businesses to hear their concerns.

Senator Waters said the State Government's plans to develop ports for coal exports would lead to degradation of coastal ecology and increase the risk of a shipping disaster on the Great Barrier Reef.
