Greens ready to roll

THE Federal election is about to heat up, with all candidates for Flynn to be announced by noon, Friday.

The Greens Party has announced its candidate for the Flynn electorate, 50-year-old Gin Gin resident Anne Goddard, who has lived in the area for the past 10 years.

Ms Goddard is currently establishing an organic farm, reforesting and co-ordinating the building of a local Indigenous Cultural Centre on 41 acres of remnant bushland.

“I’ll work hard to secure funding to ensure that public transport infrastructure is dramatically improved,” she said.

“Providing safe and affordable public transport brings communities together, lessens the need for private car ownership and reduces individual and community costs.

“I will campaign to provide sustainable, reliable, clean, energy industries to the electorate of Flynn and to insure that the rapid expansion of the mining industry in this region is properly regulated and doesn’t come at the expense of the regions environment and long-term future.”
