Grass fire reignites

MULTIPLE crews responded to a grass fire yesterday at Don Young Dr, Clinton.

Gladstone Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 10.15am and two urban crews and one rural crew attended the incident.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the fire is believed to have reignited on Tuesday morning from a fire burning in the same area on Monday.

Firefighters conducted back-burning over an area for approximately 1.5km along Don Young Dr.

The north-bound lane of Don Young Dr was closed for approximately 30 minutes due to the amount of smoke and to ensure the safety of responding crews.

The fire was deemed under control by noon.
