Grass Fire Gladstone-Benaraby Road

The Gladstone-Benaraby road grass fire was the thirteenth fire emergency services have dealt with since 4pm on Friday. Gladstone Station Officer Simon Pearson said emergency services suspect the fires were deliberately and police and now investigating.

"The fire is under control after fire fighters back burned and burnt the whole area out," he said.

Mount Morris Rural Fire Service are currently monitoring all areas where fire has broken out in the past 24 hours.

Drivers are warned to exercise caution as a grass fire burns 50 metres from the Gladstone-Benaraby Road and smoke is affecting vision. Emergency services are attending the grass fire on Wuttke Road, South Trees, near the Kin Kora turn-off. It is unknown at this stage is the fire was deliberately lit.
