Grass fire blazing in Mount Maria

A LARGE grass fire is burning near Tableland Road in Mount Maria.

There are eleven fire crews at the scene with more on the way.

The blaze broke out around 10.30am today and is being contained by backburning operations.

Residents are being urged to take precautionary measures such as closing all windows and doors and shutting blinds.

Cars should also be moved to a safe location and pets should be moved inside.

Fill any baths, bins, sinks and buckets with water and have a ladder ready for roof access.
