NETBALL: While this Saturday's Senior 1A grand finalists have already been determined, there are nine preliminary finals to be played today from 5pm at the Gladstone Netball Association courts.

Saturday's Senior 1A decider will be between Yaralla Falcons and Valleys Stars.

Tonight's winners will meet their grand final opponents in what will be a massive day.

Senior 1B (or A reserves) teams Lakers and Comets will do battle from 7pm and the winner will meet Yaralla Kestrels.

Kestrels player Olivia Whitla said senior competitions have split into several divisions.

"Senior 1 and Senior 2 teams have had a combined season this year to provide a variety of games and were broken up into three divisions when finals started,” Whitla explained.

"We have three divisions instead of two this year due to the level playing field of each division of Senior 1 and 2.”

Whitla said Saturday's grand final between the two 'A-grade' teams could produce a surprise result.

"Falcons have had the upper hand this year against Stars winning both matches, however, Stars look to field a full side come grand final day,” she said.

The Senior 2 second semi-final between Magic and Valleys Satellites was a thriller with a 20-19 win to Magic.

It means Magic are through to Saturday's grand final while Satellites have another chance against Raiders tonight.

Little Birdies, which lost to the grand final bound Valleys Rockets last week, will be keen to make amends in the Senior 3 final today from 7pm against Yaralla Cuckoos which eliminated Yaralla Hawks out of the finals race.

Meanwhile there will be six cut-throat finals today from 5pm and 6pm and the afternoon will start with six non-finals junior matches from 4pm.

Saturday's Grand final Day will start with a March Pass from 2.30pm with the Senior 1A decider from 6pm followed by presentations from 7pm.
