THEY are not your usual family.
Amid a dark, gothic-styled setting, Conspire Isis Theatre group will tell the story of 10 children whose lives are turned upside down.
Their third show in Gladstone, Bower Bird will light up the Gladstone Marina stage from Thursday, February 20, to Saturday, February 22.
Writer Natisha Strudwick said the gothic theme was common among modern theatre.
"The concept of Australian gothic theatre revolves around the history of Australia and its secrets," she said.
The group presented the Midsummer Nights production last year, which attracted up to 70- 80 viewers on each night.
"It was really good for theatre ... we're hoping for the same numbers," she said.
There are up to 16 people in the cast and crew, including director Abbi Stafford.
The group has been rehearsing the show since December.
This will be the Toolooa State High School graduate's first attempt at directing, and she said she was a little nervous.
