Gorden Tallis in rage over Adam Blair’s tackle

The "Raging Bull", Gorden Tallis, has seen red over Adam Blair's chicken wing tackle on Brisbane teammate Sam Thaiday in Friday night's Test, declaring the Kiwi enforcer "the dirtiest player in the game".

Tallis, who was no cleanskin during his playing days, said if Blair had used his dirty tactics of hitting players in the back and twisting their limbs when he was playing, he would have "taken matters into my own hands".

Blair has been charged with a grade one dangerous contact charge on Thaiday from an incident in the 62nd minute of New Zealand's 16-0 loss to Australia.

Video replays showed Blair going on with a tackle that bent Thaiday's arm significantly.

If he pleads guilty he will miss Saturday night's clash with Manly at Suncorp Stadium, but if he goes to the judiciary as he did after the round eight clash with South Sydney, and fails, he would miss two games.

Tallis, who played 160 games for Brisbane under Wayne Bennett, said what Blair did to Thaiday wasn't tough.

"I don't know why (Brisbane coach) Wayne Bennett keeps letting it go. He never tolerated that kind of play when I was with the Broncos," he said.

"I'm disappointed he wears the Broncos jersey."

Meanwhile, Parramatta salary cap consultant and former NRL salary cap investigator Ian Schubert met NRL officials to present his findings, saying he was confident the Eels' players would compete for premiership points against South Sydney on Friday night.

That is contingent on the NRL accepting former international Anthony Watmough's forced retirement because of a chronic knee complaint.

"Most certainly the club will be cap compliant.

"We'll have a full capacity (crowd) on Friday night and we'll be playing for points," Schubert said.
