Good support for drive-in movie night

THERE was a good turnout at Saturday's drive-in movie night at Gladstone Showgrounds, with organisers announcing the event will be held again this weekend.

After a rocky start, it seems Gladstone residents keen to experience the drive-in are showing up to support the events organised by CQ Starlight Cinemas.

The movies shown on Saturday were The Pirates: Band of Misfits and Elysium.

Movie titles for this Saturday's event will be announced soon.

Organisers had been disappointed by the turnout at the first drive-in movie night, after two cancellations had dented support.

Two other drive-in movie nights are planned between this weekend and Christmas.
