Golding employees saddened by loss of company founder

GOLDING Contractors has paid tribute to the late Cyril Golding, who died on Sunday morning.

The company, which was founded by Mr Golding in the 1940s, said employees were deeply saddened by his passing.

"Cyril Golding was a remarkable man who led a remarkable life," a spokesperson said.

"He led his contracting business as owner and chairman until his retirement in 2008.

"Up until his retirement, Cyril remained the major influence over the growth and diversification of Golding, one of largest employers in Gladstone.

""He was a man who valued a spotless reputation above everything else and was known equally for his philanthropy as he was for his business successes."
