Going to Rio not part of Grant Hackett’s comeback plans

GRANT Hackett says he has no plans to compete at next year's Olympics in Brazil, despite making a return to the sport at the Australian Swimming Championships in Sydney, starting Friday.

The three-time Olympic gold medallist said Rio was not on his radar and nor was his pet race, the 1500m freestyle - an event he dominated for more than a decade.

"Whilst I am enjoying it, I will continue to do it but if I don't enjoy it, I can pull out at any time because it's not like I have set up any grand vision of this big comeback," Hackett said.

"I want to just enjoy swimming and hopefully swim fast. People talk about the Olympic Games, but that is something I am not even thinking about."
