Glenn Butcher puts his hand up as possible ALP candidate

GLENN Butcher has put his hand up as a possible Labor candidate in the next state election.

Mr Butcher said if chosen as the Labor candidate, similar issues from the previous election would remain current such as the improving Gladstone Hospital.

Defeated by Liz Cunningham in the 2012 state election, Mr Butcher said if he was prepared to run a second time as the people of Gladstone got to know him and his values.

"I have put my hat in the ring to be a Labor candidate for Gladstone. Hopefully, within the next month or so I'll be the official candidate for the seat of Gladstone," he said.

The next state election will take place in 2015.
