Gladstone's quirky crimes of the week

THERE have been a few interesting crimes in the Gladstone area over the past week, and some that should serve as a warning.

No clothes

First up, a person's clothes were stolen from a Calliope laundromat.

The victim put the clothes in the dryer and left. On returning, all clothes had been removed with the exception of work clothes.

The suspect is a woman with long, black hair.

Getting ready for the weekend

In Agnes Water, a barbecue valued at $1200 was stolen from Pavillions on 1770.

The stainless steel electric barbecue had been attached to the wall on a back patio.

Just having a look around

In O'Connell St, Gladstone, offenders cut fly screens that were covering the front windows of a property and gained entry through closed but unlocked windows.

The offenders didn't damage any internal items within the house and did not steal anything.

They opened the front and back doors of the property.

Getting ideas?

In another puzzling break and enter, offenders entered a display home in Sundew St, Gladstone through a locked front door.

They then opened cupboards and drawers inside the kitchen and hallway of the house before leaving.

Lock your doors

A French St, Gladstone resident discovered it is a good idea to lock your doors.

The victim fell asleep on the couch in the lounge room, with a screen door closed but not secured.

The back door also was unsecured.

During the nap a HP blue and black laptop valued at $1100, a black leather Colorado wallet containing identification and bank cards, and a Samsung mobile phone were stolen.

In another unsecured door incident, $1400 was stolen from Hanson Constructions in Pier St.

An offender entered the back office of the business and stole the money, which had been placed under the bench near the entrance.

The money was unsecured and the office was not locked.
