A VIDEO of a flash mob of teenagers dancing at Gladstone's Stockland Shopping Centre has gone viral on Facebook.

The teens showed off their dance moves last week after two days of intensive lessons as part of the SUNfest Hot Shoes/Flash Mob Dancin' workshop.

Kathy Andrew, of Gladstone Festivals and Events, said organisers were so proud of the kids.

"There were 25 kids in the workshop, and the dance teacher was a bit worried the first day because only three kids had ever danced before," she said.

"She worked them solidly for the two days."

The workshop was tutored by Asher Bowen-Saunders, of Hoozat Entertainment in Brisbane.

It was first held last year with 12 students, and was so popular it was this year expanded to allow 25 participants.

"Sunfest is great because it gets kids away from their computers, off their mothers' couches, and gives them something they can take away and be proud of," Ms Andrew said.

"The parents also need to be applauded for their support."

Ms Andrew hinted there may be a repeat performance at Wednesday night's showcase at the Gladstone Marina stage.
