Gladstone radio show offers latest health tips

A RADIO show by the Cancer Council offering tips on health and wellbeing will be launched in Gladstone on Saturday.

The Live Well, Be Well Radio Show will air on Gladstone's 91.9 Fresh FM every Saturday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am, with the program also available as a podcast at cancerqld.org.au.

Cancer Council Queensland spokeswoman Katie Clift said she was pleased to be bringing the radio show to central Queensland, offering the best health and wellbeing tips in town.

"We've been helping Queenslanders live their healthiest and happiest lives every week on the airwaves in Brisbane for the last two years," Ms Clift said.

"Radio is an ever-changing, fresh, up-to-date industry that we're proud to be involved with - it's the perfect medium to get our crucial lifestyle messages across to Queenslanders.

"One third of all cancers are preventable through simple lifestyle choices including eating healthy, exercising, maintaining a healthy weight, staying SunSmart, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake and participating in recommended cancer screening.

"Live Well, Be Well radio offers nutrition advice, tips to boost your wellbeing, creative ideas when it comes to changing up your everyday routine and the latest health news and initiatives."

Ms Clift said the initiative offered people a new way to learn about their health, get the latest from Cancer Council Queensland and stay up to date with new research and findings."
