PHOTOS: Gladstone model gets chance on front cover
MADELIENE Roscoe is Gladstone's newest cover girl.
The 16-year-old will travel to Brisbane next month for a photo shoot for the front cover of SilentEarth magazine.
She won SilentEarth Cover Model Search in June, which is a big step from commercial modelling to fashion.
Yesterday, she worked on her portfolio with a shoot with local photographer Darryl Currey.
She was excited because it was the type of modelling she wanted to get into.
She sported an 'edgy' look and had a team from Silver Salon prodding and teasing her hair and makeup.
"This is the step in the right direction for me," she said.
"It's a big deal being on the front cover of a magazine that focuses on raw materials and natural beauty."
Madeleine said it was exciting winning the competition against girls from all over Australia.
"The semi-finals were based off Facebook likes, but the final was decided by judges, which is great to win," she said.
Rex Silver styled her hair with Josh Trevena, and said her demeanour was professional for such a young girl.
"She has patience and such great experience for a young model," he said.
"If she wanted to launch herself from this opportunity she could.
"This could put her on the map and inspire other young girls from Gladstone."
