Man fined $1000 after throwing himself at a moving taxi

A GLADSTONE man has been hit with a hefty fine after he threw himself at a moving taxi.

About 3.25am on May 18 Solomona Fuaivaa was arguing with his brother on the corner of Central Lane and Lord St.

When police asked for his ID the 26-year-old ran up Goondoon St yelling, 'come at me', while hitting his chest.

He then threw himself into a moving taxi, breaking the side mirror.

Fuaivaa pleaded guilty to wilful damage and public nuisance in Gladstone Magistrates court on Tuesday.

He was fined $1000 with no conviction recorded.
