Kane's heart will always be with Gladstone

KANE Reardon is as happy as Larry in Gladstone. The 27-year-old was born and bred in Gladstone and doesn't have any intention of leaving.

"I'm happy here," he said.

Mr Reardon, who rates playing barefoot bowls against his mates as his favourite leisurely activity, is a father of two small children, rating himself a pretty good dad.

"I've been married for three years. I have two kids, a seven and three-year-old," he said

"My seven-year-old just started playing footy, he's a good little fella.

"My three-year-old daughter pulls all of my plants out of the garden." Mr Reardon is quite proud of his garden and front lawn.

"It's the best in the street I reckon. It's a pretty long street, too," he said.

Hanging out at Bunnings, listening to Triple J and playing rugby league is what he does on the weekend when he's not working.

"I've been a boilermaker for 10 years," he said. "I like the satisfaction of finishing something."

Mr Reardon has been playing barefoot bowls for 14 years, challenging around 15 of his mates to a game on Sunday afternoon.

"I've played since I was in high school. It's good to have a beer and just carve up," he said.

Travelling isn't really on the cards for Mr Reardon as his family is happy to reside in Gladstone.

"But I have travelled to Rocky before," he said.
