Van rolls down 'steep' Gladstone driveway, removalist bails

A BUDGET removalist has bailed on his Isuzu truck as it began to roll down a "steep" drive way in West Gladstone.

Fire fighters, police and ambulance all rushed to the scene of the accident yesterday afternoon on McCrudden St.

A police spokesman said "hand brake issues" were behind the incident.

And a Queensland ambulance spokeswoman added that when the Budget van began to coast backwards, the removalist "jumped from the back".

Police said the truck then rolled down the road and into an embankment.

But the removalist only had minor neck injuries, ambulance said. But as a precaution, he was transported to Gladstone hospital.

The police spokesman said, "Investigations are still ongoing."
