Gladiators sprinting for a win

SWIMMING: The Western Suburbs Spring Sprint carnival is on tomorrow and there will be fierce competition from the Gladstone Gladiators Swimming Club out to make its mark.

A squad of 36 swimmers from the GGSC will compete at the annual carnival.

This is a target meet for the junior Gladiators with both junior coach Terry Fellows and head coach Tom Fronek in attendance.

"It's a good, fun short-course meet the 13 and under should do well at," Fronek said.

"I'd like to see all the swimmers have fun and just enjoy their racing.

"With summer approaching, this is a great time of year to take up swimming regardless of your age or ability."

Racing starts at 8am at the Western Suburbs Swimming Pool.

The swim meet will attract about 90-100 swimmers from Gladstone, Rockhampton and Biloela and will feature multiple events.
