Gladdy links to health board

Three people with strong links to Gladstone are now members of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Board.

Incumbent board member Kurt Heidecker has been joined on the board by former Gladstone Regional Council chief executive officer Graeme Kanofski and corporate lawyer Elizabeth Baker.

Chairman Charles Ware has been reappointed to his position, and says he is honoured to be continuing in the role.

"Being a part of the very first CQHH board since July 2012 has been an exciting challenge," he said.

"We have had to make some hard decisions which we believe to be in the best interests for health outcomes for the Central Queensland community."

Mr Ware said there would now be a stronger voice for Gladstone health services, with the appointment of three board members from the city.

He said the inaugural board had spent its first 12 months realigning the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service to match the National Health Reform.

"Our new mission is as a provider of the best acute hospital care possible for the Central Queensland community," he said.

"The next 12 months will be about building capacity to achieve outstanding clinical leadership and in turn even better clinical outcomes."
