LETTER: Drivers need to give a thought to road safety

YOUR SAY

ROAD Safety Week is here and a good time to give a thought or two to our driving.

As always concern at the road toll. We'd all love to see it at zero, but that will never be.

With more and more cars, motorbikes, bicycles, trucks, joggers and pedestrians there will always be some deaths. It's inevitable.

Inadequate roads, at times, inexperienced drivers on country roads , speed, inattention, fatigue , road rage, a possible suicide or two and the curse of mobile phone distraction all add their bit.

Care, consideration, concentration and courtesy are all needed more and if we all use more of the above there will be less lives lost.
