Gillespie heads home as Strikers get rid of Berry
JASON Gillespie is expected to be named coach of the Adelaide Strikers later this week, but that does not rule out the former Aussie quick from becoming coach of England in the near future.
The South Australian, who took 259 wickets in 71 Tests, has been excelling as coach of county side Yorkshire.
The division one champions have produced six players for England's Test squad that will tour the West Indies next month.
Calls to sack the Three Lions' coach Peter Moores, in light of the team's World Cup disaster, have grown louder. Gillespie will keep his job at Yorkshire and also coach the Adelaide franchise which sacked Darren Berry yesterday. That came after more disappointing results by South Australia at Shield and one-day level.
The Redbacks are now on the lookout for a new coach.
Meanwhile, the Brisbane Heat received a boost, re-signing batsman Chris Lynn for another three Big Bash League seasons.
