Get revved and help raise funds

GET your engines running for the seventh annual Bumz on Bikez ride coming to Gladstone this month.

The event started by Narelle ‘Noddy’ Groundstroem has blossomed into a long ride across Central Queensland.

The popular annual occasion sees motorbikes and cars of all shapes and sizes come along for the ride raising money for Breast Cancer Queensland.

Organiser Dave Murray said it was a great cause worthwhile of supporting.

“Anyone can come along for the ride – motorbikes or cars,” Mr Murray said.

“The support from the motorcycle riders of Central Queensland has been tremendous over the previous six years of the ‘Bumz on Bikes’ rides and this year we hope is, if anything, better.”

Breast cancer survivor Kim Warner has been participating in the event for many years and hopes to get on the back of a Harley for this year’s ride.

Ms Warner is calling on the community to support this cause and hopes to get businesses and individuals on board financially or by donating gifts to raffle off.

“The smallest donation or effort can make a big difference,” Ms Warner said.

The ride will take place on October 24, kicking off at Harbour City Motorcycles and stopping at Tannum Sands and Miriam Vale.

Registrations open at 8am and cost is $10 per pillion.

For more information about the event or to donate you can contact Kim on 4979 1780.
