Baby, it's getting cold outside: Temp set to drop

GLADSTONE is in for a cool change starting on Wednesday morning, with Gladstone tipped to drop to nine degrees.

That's freezing compared to Monday's low of 18.2 degrees at 6.30am.

It's even colder than the long term average of 11.4 degrees taken from 1909 to 1956, and colder than the coldest day last June when temperatures dropped to 11.1 degrees on June 17.

The lowest June temperature on record for Gladstone was in 1960 when it dropped to 6.1 degrees.

July in the same year feature the all time lowest temperature at 4.4 degrees.

Biloela is expected to be the coldest place in central Queensland at just one degree.
