Gardens up for awards

YOU better get in quick if you plan on booking your seat on The Observer Civic Beautification Committee Garden Awards annual bus tour on Sunday.

Only eight seats remain on the tour which will this year visit up to nine of the most spectacular gardens in the Gladstone region; including Bill and Dianne McKenzie's Grand Champion garden at Benaraby plus Large Garden runners-up David and Julie Kilmister on the outskirts of Gladstone.

Cost is $18, and includes the tour, lunch and afternoon tea.

The bus departs from the Phillip Street bus stop at Stockland Kin Kora at 9am and makes a 9.30am pick-up at the Tannum Sands Visitor Information Centre.

Bring a box as there is also the chance to buy plants and cuttings on the day.

For bookings phone Betty Bridge on 4979 3560.
