SPENDING time with family and the chance to pamper loved ones are by far the most popular reasons for entering The Observer's Second Chance Santa competition.

Until March 24, The Observer is giving readers the chance to win $1000 to spend on a gift they wanted for Christmas but didn't get.

So far technology and household items are high on the wish list with laptops, phones and the odd hair straightener failing to make it into the stocking over Christmas.
