Gas leak closes Glenlyon Rd after worker cuts line

A GAS leak led to the closure of Glenlyon Rd, Gladstone for almost 90 minutes this morning.

It's believed a worker at a construction site near Bramston and Herbert St in the CBD cut through a gas line.

Gladstone Police and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene when gas starting seeping from the pipe.

Emergency services blocked Glenlyon Rd for a period of time before re-opening just after 9am.

A Gladstone Police spokesperson said the area was now safe.
