Garbage dump landslide kills 46
A LANDSLIDE at a huge garbage dump in Ethiopia has killed at least 46 people with several dozen more missing. The landslide occurred on Saturday night at the dump on the outskirts of Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. A city spokeswoman said the dead were mostly women and children. Many of those buried alive were scavenging items from the garbage, but others were living at the landfill. Addis Ababa Mayor Diriba Kuma said 37 people had been rescued and were receiving medical treatment.
