BASKETBALL: Blue Devils absorbed a mid-game challenge from Devils White to claim its fourth consecutive Men's Premier League grand final at Kev Broome Stadium on Saturday.

Tarron Green (12 points) was adjudged as the decider's Most Valuable Player and made some big plays down the stretch toward a 47-38 win.

The experienced Blue team, with the likes of Daniel Green (13), Michael Byrnes, with a game-high 14 points, and Adam Irvine, was complemented with the energy of future QBL players Lachlan Wilmot and Mitch Glossop.

Byrnes, though, made some clutch baskets in a period when Devils White had threatened to steal the game.

Wilmot said his limited QBL experience calmed the nerves.

"Just treated it like a normal game and play our hardest."

To play alongside the Green brothers and Byrnes was an education in itself.

"They teach you a lot and it was good to learn from them," Wilmot said.

Devilicious took out the Women's Premier League decider against Lions 2 with Shayleen Thetford the MVP in the 42-35 win.

She shot six points but set up many plays with Kellie Green and Gabby Oram (10 points each) the beneficiaries.

"It was really good and so glad we got up because it was a close game," Thetford said.

"I had friends here and they said it was a really exciting game to watch."

Thetford brought her ex-QBL experience from Port City Power to the fore.

"I may be short, but I am mighty," a beaming Thetford said during post-match celebrations.
