Funeral service for Ben McEachran is on Monday

A FUNERAL service for Gladstone man Ben McEachran will be held on Monday.

Mr McEachran died last week, aged 34 years. He was reported missing before his body was found at Calliope on Friday afternoon.

He was the son of Don and Kathy, husband to Thallon and father of Alister.

The funeral service will be held at Gladstone Entertainment Centre at noon, before proceeding to Gladstone Port Curtis Lawn Cemetery.

Mr McEachran, a former light heavyweight boxer, won bronze medals for Australia at the 2002 Manchester and 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

His boxing career was cut short after a 16-year-old hit Mr McEachran outside a pub in 2006.
