‘One of a kind’ and ‘beautiful woman’ honoured

HUNDEDS have gathered to farewell Karin and Makayla Tritton, who were killed in a Christmas Day car crash.

Mourners at the funeral service at Bridgeman Downs, in Brisbane's north, spilt out of the door and onto the lawn surrounding the chapel for the event.

Karin, 56, and Makayla, 18, of Narangba, were killed while driving to a Christmas Day lunch in Brisbane's east.

Karin was remembered as a loving and caring mother.

Makayla, a "one of a kind" young woman with a bright future.

"(Karin is) the most beautiful woman - kind, generous, loving wife and mother," celebrant Dean Aitken said.

"(Makayla) seemed to have this baseline of happiness."

Makayla's sister Tarmeka attended the service on crutches with her father Laurie, but neither spoke.

Both were hospitalised by the same car crash.

After the service, ten pin bowling teammates formed a guard of honour, as Karin and Makayla's hearses took them to the crematory.
