Funds promised for facilities

A RE-ELECTED Gillard Labor Government would support the Miriam Vale Magpies Junior Rugby League Club by providing funds for new amenities at Gary Larson Oval in Miriam Vale, according to Labor.

The announcement was made on Saturday by the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Mr Anthony Albanese, and Labor Member for Flynn Chris Trevor.

In front of a grand final crowd of more than 1000, Mr Trevor announced that Federal Labor would provide full funding of $240,000 to the club for a new amenities building, including change rooms, umpires and first aid rooms, a canteen and showers.

The new and improved facilities would support junior rugby league, senior rugby league, touch football and students at the primary school together with potential future sports including soccer, softball and other sporting groups.
