Funding demand for road

THE Liberal National Party has been issued a challenge – commit to funding the Calliope crossroads once and for all.

Federal Labor Member for Flynn Chris Trevor said it was disappointing that Warren Truss and Tony Abbott failed to recognise the importance of upgrading the Calliope crossroads.

“It’s not just about cutting travel times for local residents, it’s about saving lives,” he said.

“Today I am calling on Tony Abbott to commit once and for all that a Liberal Government would fund the Calliope crossroads project.”

In expressing his disappointment, Mr Trevor said that he was not surprised Mr Abbott continued to neglect Central Queensland roads.

“These guys neglected our roads for 11-and-a-half years whilst in government,” he said.

“It’s clear that nothing has changed.”
