Trail bike ride with father-in-law costs $600

ACCEPTING an invitation to go trail bike riding with his father-in-law may have earned him brownie points in the family, but it also landed Billy John Rudder in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Riding on Western Creek Rd near Ingham on September 28 without a licence resulted in a $600 fine and a disqualification period of six months for the defendant.

What began as a "ride for fun" turned out to be anything but when police intercepted Rudder on an unregistered and uninsured trail bike.

Magistrate Stuart Shearer suggested Rudder attach a trailer to his bicycle to continue his occupation as a car detailer.
