Frock up for Police Charity Ball

THE local community is once again being asked to show its support for the upcoming Police Charity Ball.

The annual event is on July 17 at the Grand Hotel. This year funds raised will be donated to the Mater Hospital Oncology ward, the McGrath Foundation and Police Legacy.

The Ball is in its third year and has been very successful in previous years. Event organiser Helen Newman said the ball was open to anyone.

“Tickets are selling very quickly, so get in fast if you want to attend,” she said.

Tickets are $120 each or a table of 10 for $1100.

The price includes a three-course meal, a drinks package and a lucky door prize of a trip for two to Heron Island.

Local band Velocity will be providing the entertainment and there will be auctions and raffles.

“It’s a very worthy cause and it would be great to see as much community support as possible,” Ms Newman said.

“Last year we raised $40,000 – and this year we would like to beat that target.”

For tickets call Helen Newman on 0419 029 131.
