Frizell reveals secret to injury recovery

TYSON Frizell has credited pilates with fixing his dodgy back.

The Dragons second-rower and NSW Origin representative was plagued by back-related issues throughout 2016 following pre-season surgery.

The 25-year-old, however, said he was feeling good after an impressive display in his side's round-one win over the Panthers. He ran for 120m and delivered three offloads.

"It has helped me out a lot,” Frizell said of his new fitness regimen.

"It's something that I had never tried before.

"It was pretty bad (at the start). I'm still not so good at it but I'm definitely getting a lot better.

"I'll be doing that through the whole year. It's looked after my body so far and it's only going to help my recovery.”

Frizell wasn't getting excited by the opening-round win, however.

"It's round one,” Frizell said.

"We've still got to build throughout the year and we've still got a big game this weekend.”
