French hat-trick seals win over wobbly Warriors

PARRAMATTA ended its most traumatic season in the NRL on a high with speedster Bevan French carving up the Warriors with his third career hat-trick in his debut season.

Playing fullback, the 20-year-old took his try tally to an amazing 19 from 13 games for the Eels, a spectacular effort given he didn't get called for his debut until 12 rounds into the season.

French's total is the most tries scored by a rookie for Parramatta

The Warriors led 12-0 after six minutes at Mt Smart Stadium before Parramatta out-scored them 40-16 with French bagging three tries in the space of 11 minutes in wet and slippery conditions.

Their heavy 24-point loss is expected to be the end for coach Andrew McFadden after the wobbly Warriors conceded 150 points in their last four games.
