Freedom Festival heads to Agnes to raise awareness
A JAM packed Freedom Festival to raise awareness of bullying and suicide issues will be held at Seventeen Seventy/Agnes Water in September.
The event, organised by Gladstone-based Team Freedom, follows the successful Freedom Festival and Family Fun Day at the Gladstone Showgrounds in March.
The Agnes Water/Seventeen Seventy event on September 19 will feature nine celebrities, as well as market stalls, rides, live entertainment and music.
Celebrities attending the event include Home and Away's Tessa De Josselin, Ada Nicodemou, Andrew Morley and Johnny Ruffo, and Wonderland's Ben Mingay, Tim Ross and Jessica Tovey.
Team Freedom vice president Ben James said the event was designed to bring people together and raise awareness of suicide, plus drug and alcohol addiction issues, and to make a stand against bullying.
It also will raise funds for ReachOut.com, an online youth mental health service that is accessed by more than 4500 people every day.
The Gladstone Freedom Festival in March raised about $15,000 and attracted more than 3000 people.
Team Freedom was joined by Better Homes and Gardens' Demi Harman, Home and Away's Philippa Northeast, George Mason and Andrew Morley, as well as Shazza and Kev the Kiwi of the Bogan Hunters.
Another feature of the Freedom Festival Agnes, to be held at the SES grounds, will be the ultimate lip sync showdown, where lip syncers can take their skills to another level.
The festival organisers are keen to attract stall holders for the event, after the success of markets at the March event in which more than 100 stall holders participated.
