THE COMMUNITY enjoyed a free concert at Gladstone Marina Parklands today.

And if you missed it, don't worry - there are several more shows tonight and tomorrow.

The Bundamba Salvation Army Corps came up from Ipswich to perform at the parklands today.

Lieutenant Chris Ford from Gladstone's Salvation Army said it was a way of thanking residents for the funds raised in the annual Red Shield Appeal.

"The funds are still being tallied, but we should hit our goals and I'm quite pleased about that," he said.

"We have a huge need in welfare at the moment but we're also seeing an increase in domestic violence."

"We have a few ideas of how we can use those funds but it's still early days."

Head down to the church at 198 Goondoon St at 7pm tonight, or tomorrow at 9.30am or 2pm to catch the performance.
