Free motor stunt show in Bunnings car park
IT'S lunacy what the team from Showtime FMX can do on motorbikes and Gladstone is about to get the show for free.
The motocross show of aerial tricks, burnouts and road tricks will take over Bunnings Centre car park on January 30.
Big long jumps attached to trucks will be positioned within the car park as riders jump from one to the other.
The Showtime FMX team includes some of Australia's best motocross riders including Gary Reid, Steve Mini, Matty McFerran, Brad Burch and Adam Bayard.
The event on January 30 is being brought to town thanks to Betta Home Living franchisee Brent Jordison who said it would be good to raise the spirits of those finding things a bit tough at the moment.
"It should be a tonne of fun," he said.
"The guys are mad. It's absolutely lunacy what they do. I guess it's a nice thing to do for the community and it will be different turning the car park into an arena."
Brent said he jumped at the opportunity to secure Showtime FMX for Gladstone through Betta Home Living's sponsorship deal with them.
"We have been in Gladstone for 17 years in June and been with Betta the whole time," he said.
"I knew Showtime FMX were doing a tour and told them they have to come to Gladstone. We still had to pay for it but I wasn't going to let this opportunity slip.
"I can't wait. It's going to be something completely different for Gladstone."
The free large-scale motocross show will go from 6pm-8pm. There will be food and drinks for sale and the riders will be around throughout the day for a meet and great with locals.
