Former PM visits Gladstone
LAST time Kevin Rudd arrived in Gladstone he was on a private jet. Not this time. The former ALP Prime Minister was the first off a Qantas Flight.
The flight touched down about 12pm, in the midst of a rescue drama following a light plane crash west of the airport.
Mr Rudd was ushered off the plane and greeted by Member for Flynn Chris Trevor and then was on his way to the Gladstone Ports Corporation for an announcement.
Mr Rudd is the latest in a long line of politicians to visit the marginal seat. More news will be available as it comes to hand.
Tomorrow, in The Observer, Kerri-Anne Mesner will have details of the visit and answers to the question about why Kevin Rudd has come to town, and when might the electorate expect a visit from Labor's leading lady.
