WATCH: Thieves load up trolley in Gladstone cafe break in

FOOD, alcohol, pre-baked goods and the whole till were stolen from Savour the Flavour after it was targeted in a break in last night.

Apprentice chef Kara Delaney opened the store this morning at 5.30am to find broken eggs and the missing goods.

The brazen thieves bolt cut the locks off the door to enter and steal the till and $400 worth of food.

The till also had $300 in it.

Gladstone Police has scoured the area for fingerprints, but with no luck.

"It was a little scary, it had my heart racing," Ms Delaney said.

"It looks like they had it quite well planned.

"They grabbed our trolleys and loaded them up, and then carted them to their car which was parked at the back gate," she said.

The café was closed until 11am this morning.

They have had to re-order their grocery items and alcohol.

They've also had to make cakes, slices and cookies which were also taken, which were prepped for a function tomorrow.

Savour the Flavour staff are extremely sorry but due to a break in last night the cafe will be CLOSED until further notice. Will inform you all once we can reopen.

Gladstone Police is asking for assistance in their investigations.

They believe the car used in the break in was a 4WD and would have been in the area between 8.30pm last night and 5.30am this morning.
