Flood warning in place for Gladstone region rivers

A FLOOD warning remains in place for the Kolan, Baffle, Boyne and Calliope Rivers in the Gladstone region.

At 7.45am on Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology said minor flood levels (5m) were expected on Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge on Friday afternoon.

Up to 100 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the catchment since 9am Thursday.

River levels are rising on Baffle Creek between Mimdale and Essendean Bridge.

Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast during the next few days.

Early on Friday morning, these were the latest river heights:

  • Baffle Creek at Mimdale: 8.45m and rising
  • Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge: 3.92m and rising
  • Euleilah Creek at Hills Rd: 2.23m and falling
  • Baffle Creek at Barnett's Rd: 0.92m and falling.
